Privacy
You can read this whole site without telling us anything
No accounts. No personal tracking. No newsletter. Here is the little that is left to explain.
What we do not collect
There are no accounts on this site and no way to create one. There are no forms, no email capture and no mailing list. We do not run advertising scripts, we do not set tracking cookies, and we do not embed content from social networks. Reading an article here leaves nothing behind except the ordinary, short-lived server logs that any website on the internet produces in order to work, plus an anonymous count of the visit (see below).
Visit statistics
To see which pages are being read, the site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, run by our hosting provider. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your browser, does not follow you to other websites and does not store your IP address. We see only totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries and device types, and never who you are.
The chat with Guide
Guide is provided to help you think through what the Bible teaches about salvation. It is not a person. When you send a message, the text of your conversation is sent to the assistant so that it can reply, and a random session identifier is kept in your browser’s session storage so the conversation can continue while the tab is open. Close the tab and that identifier is gone. We do not ask for, and you should not type, your name, email address, phone number, or anything else that identifies you.
Conversations may be retained for a limited time to keep the assistant working reliably and to check that it is answering honestly and within its boundaries. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold or shared for marketing. The assistant is not a pastor, a counselor, or a substitute for professional or emergency help, and it will say so.
Images and fonts
Photographs are served from this site’s own image host. Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers; that request is governed by Google’s own privacy terms. Nothing else on this site loads from a third party.
Children
This site is written for general readers and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes and questions
If this page changes, the change will be made here, in plain language. Questions about privacy can be sent to contact@salvation.chat.
